ANNOUNCING OUR NEWEST GRANTEE: KANTORA ACTION FOR GREEN (KAG)

​Pennywise is pleased to announce our newest partner in positive change - Kantora Action for Green (KAG)!  KAG is a registered environmental nonprofit organization in the Gambia that seeks to educate and empower young people to act towards caring for the environment through sports. They use the power of sports to bring young people together to actively participate in the rehabilitation of the depleting vegetation in the Kantora district of Upper River Region in The Gambia. 

KAG collaborates with local schools and community support groups, using sports as a way of engaging young people. Through their sports teams in both the schools and the community, they participate in tree seed collection, planting, and transplanting exercises. In supporting these youth, KAG regularly organizes and sponsors sports tournaments throughout the district both in schools and communities. 

KAG has purchased its first set of 2000 biodegradable grow bags and some acacia seeds for a new nursery of 1500 mixed trees of cashew, avocado, and acacia. We are so excited to see this work grow! Welcome Kantora Action for Green and thank you for your amazing work to make the world a better place for generations to come!
