POWER OF LOVE

The Power of Love Foundation (POL) funds and runs projects in Zambia and India targeted toward helping women and children infected/affected with HIV and AIDS. POL works to empower women, often grandmothers, and helps them take steps toward self-reliance. POL's multi-pronged approach includes training women to care for HIV-infected children; providing food, medicine and health care, including malaria prevention services, to help them do that; and offering business training and micro loans so that the women they work with can become economically independent. POL also partners with Pennywise and the Doane Nets Project on the Zambia NetWorks Project (learn more about that project HERE).
Pennywise supports POL's wholistic approach. They help identify solutions to community problems from within those communities themselves. They work with whole family systems, simultaneously offering immediate support and generating longer term pathways out of poverty. In that way they impact generations and help break cycles of poverty and ill health.
