Amazon hope collective (AHC)
The AHC provided support for the Kuikuro throughout the outbreak of Covid-19 in March of 2020. Efforts included providing support to people returning to the village; securing supplies including food, gas, soap, and cloth for masks; adapting village structures for quarantine; and hiring on site doctors.

The Kuarup is the biggest ritual in honor of the deaths among Brazilian indigenous people. As a result of the Covid-19 pandemic, the Kuarup was cancelled in the Xingu indigenous territories for the first time in 50 years.
