Pennywise stands with our grantee partner, Alight, and the thousands of other non-governmental, non-profit organizations that implement the majority of USAID’s programs as they face an existential resource crisis.
New Grantee: Lawyers for good government (L4GG)

L4GG is a community of 125,000 lawyers, law students, and activists fighting to ensure equal rights, equal opportunities and equal justice under the law.
They coordinate large scale pro bono programs and issue advocacy efforts, seeking not only to establish and enforce equality under the law, but to also create the social and economic conditions that lead to true equity.
As the Trump Administration attempts to bypass Congress, defy court orders, and dismantle climate and environmental protections, L4GG is mobilizing lawyers to push back against executive overreach and defend our democracy.

The Pennywise model: How it works
We believe that by investing in small, grassroots predominantly BIPOC and youth led organizations, our grantees are able to help break destructive cycles, reduce waste, reimagine use of resources. We work together to cultivate creative and strategic partnerships and generate sustainable solutions to today's most challenging issues.
