Urgent response: Ice out now!
An urgent message to the Pennywise community:
We know that you, our friends and supporters, share our outrage at the myriad crimes and abuses being promulgated by ICE under the direction of the Trump administration. We know that you do not need us to inform you about what is happening because you are already seeing it. We are all recognizing that some of the “worsts” we imagined are happening right now.
We are sharing how we are responding in the hope that we can inspire and facilitate giving at this critical time.
We have been working hard to understand how small nonprofits- our core constituency- are having a direct and meaningful impact on the families and communities most at risk. We are meeting with immigration rights experts, grassroots organizers and individuals who have been targeted by ICE. We are talking with directors of organizations that work nationally as well as groups in currently impacted cities including Minneapolis, MN and Portland and Lewiston, ME
We are utilizing our Urgent Response Fund to Meet this Moment. We will be offering immediate support to small nonprofits taking action on the streets while longer term pathways out of this crisis are navigated.
Our emergency grants, funded by your contributions of any size, can:
Please Give. The more we get the more we give. Your donations will directly impact the scope of our response. Pennywise Urgent Response Grants will go to grassroots, BIPOC and Immigrant led, 501(c)(3) organizations operating in communities being directly impacted by ICE.
